Winter wonderland

Some crazy times here in Tennessee. This storm hit our area Friday night. We woke up to beautiful snow. Then by late Saturday afternoon it turned to a very light rain which went through late Sunday morning. Our snowfall measured between 4-6 inches. Kade loved walking around the property playing in the snow.

Mark enjoyed taking Vader out in the snow.

We have been blessed that we have not yet lost power 🙏🏻. We still have a couple more days that our day temps barely hit 20 and night temps are below 0. My chicken run got hit pretty hard with the ice. And my chickens have been locked in the coop.

Today the sun came out! It’s cold but it is amazing how you feel when you have sunshine.

Yesterday I had to cut down my chicken netting in the run. The weight was pulling so hard on the t-posts that hold up my fence. My fence comes first! I really don’t want to do that all over again. I also took some hay and spread out for the girls! They are so excited to get out of the coop.

Today Kade finally got to play ball. The snow is frozen over so the ball stays on top!

Both Mark and I lived in Colorado for many years. We are not virgins to snow and ice. But we did not think we would have to deal with it here in Tennessee. ❤️
