Life is good when you can sit and watch your chickens.

These two lovely ladies joined my flock yesterday. I found a nice farm that would take my 6 roosters that I had. Five of them were a silkie breed. So out of six silkies, I got one hen. 🤦🏼♀️
We purchased a canopy for my birds to have shade, rain protection and a place to get under for aerial predators. This fall when it cools down I hope to put Mark to work and build me a covered area off the coop. Of course then I will hang cute lights and hang fun stuff! 😂

Here I am getting them settled in at night along with the other birds.

Here they are coming outside for the first time. The lady that I got these two birds from was a very neat person. We really enjoyed talking with her and her chick raising set up was awesome! This was the first time these two birds have ever stepped on grass.

They are still figuring things out today. And of course there is always a pecking order that has to take place.
Tomorrow I am going to let out my guineas into the run. That should be fun tomorrow night trying to get them inside the coop. We will see what they do. The last few nights I’ve had to help a few of the birds into the coop because they just aren’t figuring it out quite yet. The next post should be fun! 😂
